Launched in 2002, and originally named ‘Froogle’, Google Shopping campaigns are a brilliant way to get your products and all the information required alongside them for a user to make an informed decision before they click and cost you money.
Over the years, I’ve worked with companies to take their product database, and translate it into a format that Google Shopping will accept to list the products in the search results.
Improved Conversion Rates
Conversion rates on Google Shopping campaigns tend to be much higher than traditional text-based adverts, simply because of the amount of supporting information that is provided to the potential customer – they can see an image, the price, shipping information and a short description of the product and it won’t cost you a penny until they take the decision to click. Text ads don’t have this advantage – a lot of the information is only made available after a click-through to your website, at which point customers have a high probability of bouncing away without conversion.
Setting Up Your Google Shopping Feed
I work with eCommerce clients to create a Google Sheet solution that takes in data from various sources and produces a final sheet that Google Shopping will accept into it’s feed to publish the products on the Google Search Results. On occasion, the eCommerce platform that the client is using will have a solution in place that helps connect directly to the data held within the store, I can help integrate those solutions too!
